Santa Fe, NM!

Sept 22 - Amarillo to Arizona
After waking up to yet another motel continental breakfast (consisting of toast, cereal and bad coffee), we headed out toward our destination of Santa Fe, NM. We arrived at about 2, and headed for Cafe La Seña, a personal favorite of mine, serving novelle Southwest Cuisine. I had a sampler plate with a banana leaf wrapped tamale, a duck quesadilla and Southwestern Shrimp. Don got Pollo Asado tacos, and we all had a bowl of Tortilla Soup. Brad and I split a bottle of Pinot Grigio, just because. Don declared it "a good munch," one of the new phrases that has made it's way into our lexicon. We then spent the rest of the afternoon buying presents for our loved ones, things we couldn't get back home. No I'm not telling who is getting what!

On the way out of town, we stopped at a great Southwestern store called Jackalope, but didn't buy anything - Don just had to use a bathroom, and there's proved quite convenient. He must have a bladder the size of a pea - it seems that we're always stopping for him!

As I write this, we are in route to Holbrook, AZ, to stay at the Wigwam Motel, which is convenient to the activities planned for tomorrow's adventure. Some of you have asked "why are there no pictures of Brad?" Glad you asked! You see, with my computer only half working, we are relying on the pictures he takes with Patti's digital camera. I promise to supplement them next week when I get mine processed!
